Cincinnati Project

Town Planning And Design, LLC will be consulting with the WESTSIDE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION(WDC) in San Antonio, Texas as an architect and urbanist. The WDC recognized that the West sector of San Antonio has been identified as an area that is in need of revitalization. As part of this revitalization effort, the WDC makes business loans for projects in its target area at/or below market interest rates and initiates projects and programs to address revitalization efforts.

Town Planning And Design, LLC will be developing a neighborhood identity to link (two miles long) Woodlawn Lake Park ( developed in 1887) and University of St. Mary’s (developed in 1891) which was founded by the Brothers of the Society of Mary (Marianists) in 1852. There is a neighborhood conservation district in the area that contains Craftsman architecture with some post-WWII modern, Tudor, Mission and Cottage style homes. Also the Monticello Park Historic District features a mixture of architectural styles ranging from Art Moderne to Spanish Eclectic and Tudor Revival.

The purpose of this conceptis to have a great pedestrian experience through landscaping, walking and bike trail and definition of major intersections and linking two major assets in the neighborhood - Saint Mary’s University and Woodland Lake Park.

The process will require public participation, collecting data, know the neighborhood, define the specific impact area, interpreting the data, circulation and accessibility, the pedestrian right of way, land use and zoning, analysis and concept plan development and recommendation. The important part of this process will be through a public participation process.
